Accounting for Share-Based Payments

with GAAP Dynamics and The Alliance Group
Thursday, September 19, 2024
11:00 AM - 1:00 PM ET

Course Description

There are many ways for a company to compensate its employees (and non-employees), and the type of compensation will determine the accounting requirements (and level of complexity)! In this CPE-eligible webinar (2.0 CPE), we’ll discuss two common areas of compensation: Share-based payment awards, which is governed by ASC 718, and deferred compensation, which is governed by ASC 710, including:
  • The scope of ASC 718
  • How to classify share-based payment awards as either equity-classified or liability-classified
  • Basic measurement techniques and key inputs used when determining the fair value of share-based payment awards
  • Subsequent recognition of compensation expense relating to share-based payment awards, including how to account for modifications
  • Fundamental concepts of accounting for deferred compensation under ASC 710
  • And other important considerations!

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, you should be able to:
